Trabajar mejor con Vista / Disable annoying Vista’s pop-ups

Muchos usuarios estamos de acuerdo que los avisos de Vista de “seguro que quiere hacer esto”  (el llamado UAC) son una lata. En mi opinión son una mala transferencia de la contraseña de root de Unix.

          Para muchos puristas de Windows, desactivar esto es una locura en cuanto a seguridad, y no decimos que no sea así. Parece ser que muchas de las medidas de seguridad que usan varios programas de Vista se basan en tener esto activado.

         Por lo tanto, como en todo, lo mejor será llegar a un compromiso. El mejor que hemos encontrado es ponerlo en modo silencioso. Y se trabaja muy cómodo con ello. Este modo deja activo en UAC pero no sale el mensaje  de confirmación. Eso si, tendremos un icono de alerta en la parte inferior derecha de la barra de Windows (que ignoraremos). Estos son los pasos:

• Descargar el programa TweakUAC y ejecutarlo. Se puede descargar aquí

• En la primera ventana del programa seleccionar la casilla, y luego elegir la opción central (Switch UAC to the quiet mode).
• Despues ok a todo. Si lo dejamos así el icono de la barra de tareas notificará todo el rato que se ha desactivado el UAC.
• Por último nos vamos al símbolo de windows >>panel de control >> Seguridad >>Centro de seguridad  y en la columna de la izquierda seleccionar “Cambiar la forma en la que me alerta el centro de seguridad” (última opción).
• Como antes seleccionar la opción del medio (No notificarme pero mostrar icono).

Veréis como mejora el uso de Vista.

      One of the things most users have complained about in Vista are the annoying pop-up “do you want to confirm this?”.  I know most IT Window experts say UAC (that’s what this is called) should be left on. And it is true a lot of Vista’s security depends on this. But it is really annoying.

         So we have found a compromise mode, the silent mode. You have most of the benefits of the UAC but with no alerts. This is how to do it:

• Download TweakUAC here
• Install and check the first box to accept the license, then, from the 3 options select the one in the middle (Switch UAC to the quiet mode).
• Then accept. If left at this point, Vista will notify every now and then that UAC is turned off. To avoid this.
• Go to the Windows icon, control panel >>Security >>Security Center. On the left colum choose the last option (Change the way..) then again select the middle option (“Don´t notifiy but show the icon“).
• You will get an icon at the bottom right of Windows task bar which will eventually hide itself.

But   you will notice how it is much easier to work with Vista!
